Anti Acne Skin Care - Things to Do To Keep Acne at Bay

Acne is an external symptom of underlying problems with the body. These problems could range from faulty blood circulation to hormonal reactions. However, since the breakout of acne always happens on the skin, it seems logical to begin controlling the problem from there. Some people would criticize this approach – they would say that acne happens because of problems that occur inside the body and treating the skin is of no avail in treating the condition – and they would be right. But it is also right that you need to maintain proper hygiene of your skin and tend to it so that it is tenacious enough to fight against this condition.

Here are some of the most important things you need to do for your skin, which can help you in keeping acne at bay.
  • Always keep your skin washed and clean. Even a slight amount of sweat that persists on the skin and dries up there has a potential of developing acne. Sweat consists of an oily substance known as sebum. This substance, if not removed, will develop a thin film on the skin. Due to that, the pores of the skin get blocked and are not able to eliminate the toxic materials that they usually excrete. These materials then develop into pimples. Hence, you need to wash your face as often as you can. Do it whenever you get the chance to rinse your face, especially if you have an oily skin.
  • Be careful of the soap that you use for your facial skin. Do not use soap that's regular body soap. The facial skin is much more sensitive than the skin of the rest of your body. Hence, you need to use a soap that's specially meant for the face. Or, better still, use a mild cleansing solution that can be safely used on the face.
  • It is a good idea to replace your regular soap with a lime based soap. Lime has astringent properties which deters the growth of pimples. If you wash your face at least twice a day with a lime based soap, you will find that the chances of developing pimples are highly reduced.
  • You need to exfoliate the skin of the face at least once a fortnight. This helps to remove the dead skin cells which accumulate on the top layer of the skin. You can prepare your own exfoliating solutions at home by making a thick paste of crystalline substances like sugar or salt and rubbing them on your face. You have to allow them to remain on the face for a while and then rinse them out. The mild rubbing action actually scrapes the dead cells away. You also get exfoliating products commercially. You could safely try them out.
  • Be careful of the foods that you eat. Oily, calorie-rich foods are bad for you if you get acne often. These foods can increase the oiliness of the skin which can increase the chances of acne.
On the whole, stay cheerful and happy and take care of your body. Acne is just an indication that something's not quite right with the way you are tending to your body. It is nature's way of telling you that your body needs more care and attention.

Using Vitamin A as Regimen for Adult Acne
Research has indicated that there is a close connection between retinol, more commonly known as vitamin A, and acne. These same researches have shown that when vitamin A is used in large amounts of about 300 to 500 thousand IU per day, it can put paid to the acne condition, even if it is very drastic.
